We are located in Olympia, Washington, and have provided solutions in California, Oregon and throughout the west. Geography is no barrier.
We began as a service bureau to provide microfilm services to Washington state governmental agencies. In 1998 Coastal’s predecessor company purchased its first scanning equipment and began simple archiving – in effect replacing microfilm with CDs. As the technology and customer’s needs have matured, Coastal has met the challenge. In 2001 Coastal was awarded the largest backfile conversion in state history. We converted 23 million documents into digital data for the Department of Retirement Systems. To quote the customer: “On time and under budget”. Our documented accuracy rate was 99.8%.
In 2004 Coastal enhanced its position as a full service bureau with the purchase of several large format scanners which enabled the company to scan architectural drawings, large maps and other oversized items such as paintings. In 2006 Coastal completed a project to scan over 5,000 blueprints of civic buildings for the City of Fife.
In 2005 the company invested in X-ray scanners which have enabled many medical practitioners to integrate their old files into their current digital systems. In 2006 Coastal created an electronic medical record system for Pope’s Kids’ Place, a non-profit pediatric practice in Centralia, Washington that serves disabled and disadvantaged children.
Coastal is a reseller of Alchemy by Captaris. We utilize many other software platforms including Ascent Capture, Kodak, Kofax and Cabinet NT to name a few.
We are heavily involved in the cemetery and funeral home industry, real estate, legal professions, engineering and medical practices.
Our staff are highly trained professionals; each is HIPAA trained and have undergone criminal background checks, confidentiality training and are subject to random drug testing.
